With its small traditional villages, the charm of its coves and the beauty of its beaches, a stay in Mallorca is a dream come true. Visit Palma de Mallorca

The island would not be what it is without its capital. So, what to do in Palma de Mallorca? Palma's cathedral is a must-see. Majestic and emblematic, it stands at 109 metres high, making it the second tallest religious building in Spain. This Gothic site, also known as "La Seu", is immense and overlooks the bay of Palma. The seaside town of Palma de Mallorca also stands out for its 14th century Bellver Castle, which offers a beautiful panoramic view, as well as the Royal Palace of the Almudaina, one of the residences of the Spanish king. • Discover the caves of Drach and the village of Porto Cristo in Mallorca

Moving away from the capital Palma de Mallorca, about fifty kilometres towards Manacor near Porto Cristo, we set out to discover the Drach caves, a unique natural site. And for good reason: the Mallorcan site is home to one of the largest underground lakes in the world, Lake Martel. The visit is made on foot, then by boat, and capped by a short concert of classical music to round off this magical experience with an acoustic treat. The light is astonishing, the water is crystal clear, and the contrasts are captivating. Then take the opportunity to visit the coastal village of Porto Cristo in Mallorca. Prized for its natural harbour, the bay contains this quaint, picturesque village, with narrow streets that wind their way to the pier.

• See Cap de Formentor and the village of Artà

Located at the northeast tip of the island, Cap de Formentor is an ideal site for hiking and taking plenty of beautiful photos of the mountains and the sea. Cap de Formentor is the highest point on the island, affording a unique view. On a clear day, you may even be able to see the island of Menorca in the distance. At the top of the cliff, a lighthouse from 1857 stands alone on the rocky promontory. Sheltered from mass tourism, this part of the island of Mallorca reveals some really gorgeous wild landscapes. Close to the Port of Pollença, you can also visit the charming villages of Artà and Alcúdia, a beautiful Mallorcan town featuring striking walls in its old town. Then continue your tour to the Chapel of the Holy Christ, the Church of St. James and also the monographic museum. The port of Alcúdia is also a famous seaside resort, from which many cruises depart.
